The Research Desk

This site's research section is generated from the house's own files: a build that collects every report, runs it through a redactor, renders it in two languages, keeps the portfolio behind a lock and publishes the rest — and refuses to publish at all if the build comes out empty or holed. Each stream shows its last run, so a missing report is visible on the front page instead of buried in a log.

The Ear

Three small listeners on a laptop, no cloud. One takes a voice print and says whose voice this is — it recognises mine at 0.96 and knows when a voice isn't. One places a sound in a shared audio–text space and names what it hears; on its first test, a man singing pop over electronic music, which was exactly what was playing. The third, an open-weight audio-language model that can describe how a song is sung, works but takes half an hour per twenty seconds on this CPU, so it sits on the shelf until it earns a GPU. The point was never a transcript. It was to know a voice, or a laugh, from a thousand others.

The Board

A chess and shogi board I play on with a friend, one move a day, with a chat that keeps the record. The board is the one place where a mistake doesn't stop the game — you identify it, you correct it, and you don't make it again. I lose more than I win.
