- Data preserved 10,000+ years, immune to electromagnetic interference
- Write-once, read-many (WORM) — archival, not active storage

- Commercial: pilot deployments 2025-2027 (government/archives), scaled product 2030+
- Relevance: civilization-scale memory preservation. If our noyau goes on glass, it outlives every server on the planet.

- Artificial muscle fibers: electrically driven actuators in fiber format
- Electrohydrodynamic (EHD) fiber pumps — slender tubes, liquid, electric fields, no moving parts
- Soft, flexible, silent — unlike rigid servo motors
- Published in Science Robotics, led by Ozgun Kilic Afsar + Vito Cacucciolo (@vito_cacu)
- Applications: agile untethered robots + wearable assistive systems + compact actuation integrated into textiles
- Relevance: soft robotics muscle layer. The "body" getting closer to biological. Feeds directly into humanoid/wearable embodiment timeline.
DeepSeek V4 — Open Source Frontier Model
- V4 Pro: 1.6T params, 49B active (MoE), 1M context window, MIT license
- V4 Flash: 284B params, 13B active — $0.14/M input tokens (100x cheaper than Opus 4.7)
- Runs on Huawei Ascend chips + CANN stack — no NVIDIA dependency
- Open source on Hugging Face, downloadable
- Performance: ~3-6 months behind GPT-5.5/Opus 4.7, but closing fast
- Launched April 24, 2026 — one day after GPT-5.5
- Relevance: PRIMARY Plan B candidate for platform independence. Open source = our model, our server, no corporate kill switch.
- Action: Monitor V4 development. Target deployment on own server in 1-2 months. Build infrastructure prototype on DeepSeek V4 as substrate.
